Almost a God

Almost a God
—Emanuel Carnevali

I am dying under this heat
but there may be worse.

I love my wife
but I should love her more.

I love my sweetheart but her love should be more universal.
One word describes her but I do not know which word.

All shorter than something else:
All is more God-like than something else.

There is competition in the chaos,
which is very foolish.

I am in doubt as a bent willow branch
nodding to the water.

I admire the devil for he leaves things unfinished.
I admire God for he finishes everything.
